Architected, developed system specification, performed lead design,
delegated hardware and software tasks for the development of a Plug n Play
(PnP) large scale network sensor system.

Designed and integrated a PC104+ based custom high speed network
interface controller (NIC).
·
Designed Acquisition Nodes, for interface over multi-drop, TIA-899
compliant, long distance network.
·
Designed Flight Termination Receiver (FTR) hardware; employing FPGAs,
ADCs/ DACs, analog signal conditioning circuitry and filters; tasks included
architecture definition, design, simulation, debug and integration of Infinite
Impulse Response (IIR) based digital filters for selectivity and detection in
FPGAs and employed bit-serial multiply/accumulate (MAC) topology, which tripled
company’s piece price profit.

Developed technical and marketing study report (white paper) on feasibility
of secure OC768 optical communications
deployment for National Security Agency (NSA).

Modified design and oversaw development of a 320 Mbps OQPSK ECL
modulator board.
·
Assisted in the architecture definition of a System on Chip (SoC)
employing ARM 7 processor core and peripheral system functions—DMA, serial,
memory and EDAC controllers, as well as designed an Evaluation Module (including
VHDL design of memory controller) which incorporates SDRAM, SRAM, EEPROM and
DMA interfaces for customer usage.

Designed an Advanced RISC Processor (ARM) based Single Board Computer
(SBC) with VME bus for space applications.
·
Developed TDRSS transponder downlink interface board, including FPGAs,
which incorporated solid-state recorder, real-time data interleave and ˝ rate
forward error correction (FEC); designed, debugged, simulated and integrated
FPGAs performing command, telemetry and phase lock loop (PLL) functions for the
Gravity Probe B (GP-B) satellite.

Designed a digital TDM based PBX system (including telco interface
circuits) that perform auto-attendance, call routing, voice storage,
annunciation and tone processing functions.

Designed and integrated an embedded 68EC020 based CPU packaged on a
PC-104 form factor.
·
Designed and integrated a low cost, high volume microcontroller based
pressure monitoring acquisition board.
·
Designed hardware, coded firmware in C and Assembly, debugged and
integrated a multi-processor based CPU circuit card comprised of high-density,
digital and audio circuitry, including a Combo Codec, responsible for ground
collision warning annunciation in commercial aircraft.

Developed a UL,
VDE and CSA compliant circuit for monitoring and controlling a 2.5 KW
multi-processor based computer system.
·
Designed an
AD2101 based DSP module, including audio conditioning circuitry, that performs
ADPCM compression in real-time.
·
Architected, designed, developed specifications, conducted design
reviews, performed subcontract management for the development of two distinct
mixed-mode ASICs, which would be used by multiple contractors due to their
advantageous modularity.

Architected, designed, coded firmware, debugged and integrated two
distinct microcontroller based I/O SMT modules, operating with a redundant
system, comprised of analog and digital circuitry and two mixed-mode ASICs
which processed Longbow Apache helicopter cockpit data and provided interface
functions.
